PHILIPPINE TALENT OOZING FROM VISAYAS AND MINDANAO REGIONS

NEXT STARS TO COME FROM VIS-MIN
Davao, Philippines – The next generation of Asian hip-hop dance stars are going to come from down South of the Philippines, according to WSB Founder Marco Andre Selorio.
The revelation comes from the recent WSB Asia Championship in Singapore last January 26 – 28.  The Monster and Cell Divisions were dominated by SZHD and Astrophile, crews and dancers from Cebu City, the Queen of the South. It’s only the beginning.
“They are talented, skilled, innovative and hungry. They want it bad, they want to show off their creativity and they want to make sure everyone is paying attention. Their humility keeps these next generation of dancers grounded, but they earn the respect from their peers,” said Selorio.
The upcoming Battlegrounds Philippines Regional Qualifiers has already begun, with Luzon holding its qualification event last March 2. The biggest number of participants will be coming from Mindanao, with the qualifier to be hosted by Davao City on April 6. Meanwhile, Visayas will be holding its qualifier on April 13, a week after Mindanao.
Some of the best street dance crews, rising groups, high schools, colleges and dance organisations have registered and joined multiple divisions to showcase the growing talent from their respective regions.
The vast majority of dance groups area already expected to bring the summer heat next month, get set for the two major international events that they will be involved with in 2024.
WSB AU Championships will be happening on June 21-22 in Hurstville Entertainment Centre in Sydney City, while the WSB 20th Anniversary International Champions Conference will take place in Bankstown Sports Club in the second week of September.
Rest assured, Visayas and Mindanao will represent their respective provinces, cities and regions to the fullest. They always do.
